FUEL THE PACK
Our missions don’t move without the strength of our volunteers. Join the front lines of North Carolina’s most grit-driven trail community, support your fellow runners, and help us build the most dedicated trail community in the Carolinas.
THERE'S A PLACE FOR YOU IN THE PACK
At Dirty Wolf Racing, we believe that the soul of trail running is found in the community that surrounds the course. When you volunteer with us, you aren’t just a helper—you are a cornerstone of the DWR family. You are the voice of encouragement at 3:00 AM, the architect of the finish line, and the steward of the trails we call home.
Volunteering is the ultimate way to give back to the sport that gives us so much. Whether you are an ultra-veteran looking to support the next generation or a newcomer wanting to experience the grit of race day, there is a place for you here. Stand with us, share in the struggle, and see the race from the other side of the bib.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
From the first light of setup to the final runner across the line, there is a role for everyone in the family. No experience? No problem. We’ll provide the intel you need.
THE AID STATION CREW
The Mission: Manage "Trail Fuel Heaven." You’ll be responsible for keeping runners hydrated, fed, and motivated. This is where the "family" vibe is strongest.
THE COURSE GUARDIANS
Hold the line at critical junctions. You’ll ensure every runner stays on course and remains safe through technical sections of the North Carolina wilderness.
CHECK IN CREW
Be the first face the Pack sees. You’ll handle packet pickup, verify registrations, and ensure every runner starts their mission with confidence.
BUILD & STRIKE TEAM
The architects of the race village. You’ll help transform a quiet trailhead into a professional race environment and ensure we "leave no trace" once the mission is complete.
THE COURSE SWEEPERS
The final safety net. You’ll follow the last runner to collect course markings and ensure that no runner—and no piece of trash—is left behind on the trail.
FINISH LINE LOGISTICS
The celebration squad. You’ll hand out those hard-earned BlueGill Pottery medals, assist with timing chips, and ensure every finisher is looked after and celebrated.
YOUR GRIT, REWARDED.
At Dirty Wolf Racing, we value the time and energy you invest into this community. For every mission you serve as a volunteer, you earn (1) Free Race Credit—redeemable for any DWR race of your choice.”
Credits are issued via email following the completion of your shift. No expiration, no blackout dates. Just our way of saying thanks for being the backbone of the Pack.
