THE PACK
Step into the North Carolina endurance community with approachable 50K trail races and family-friendly events. Perfect for your first ultra marathon or a supported weekend at the lodge.
THE QUEST
Step into a story where the trail is only half the challenge. These mid-distance events feature technical terrain and unique narrative elements—like the mandatory Protection Stones—designed for runners who want to solve a mystery while they move.
THE ABYSS
A descent into the extreme. These high-consequence mountain events are built for the elite athlete. With minimalist support and vertical gain that defies logic, The Abyss is where you go to find out exactly what happens when you reach your limit.
THE DWR OPERATING STANDARDS
Dirty Wolf Racing is built on a foundation of self-reliance, environmental stewardship, and the belief that every finish line is earned through grit. Whether you are navigating the rolling technical trails of Belmont and Charlotte or tackling the high-consequence vertical gain of the North Carolina mountains, our operating standards ensure a premier endurance racing experience. We provide the arena; you provide the resolve to master the Piedmont terrain and beyond.
OPERATIONAL SAFETY
Your grit is required, but your safety is our priority. We deploy dedicated trail sweeps and strategic radio-monitored aid stations to ensure that while you’re pushing your limits on the North Carolina trails, you’re never truly alone in the wild.
TECHNICAL PRECISION
We pride ourselves on course clarity. From GPX files synchronized with elevation profiles to high-visibility flagging on the technical roots of the Piedmont, we ensure the only mystery you face is how much energy you have left for the final climb.
LEAVE NO TRACE
The technical trails of the Carolinas are our greatest asset. We operate with a strict zero-impact policy to ensure these paths remain pristine for the next generation of the Wolf Pack. Respect the land or don't take the start.
[ PRO TIMING ]
Live Mission Tracking Your effort deserves accuracy. Every mission is chip-timed with live result tracking, allowing your crew to follow your progress through the Piedmont and beyond in real-time.
[NAVIGATION]
High-Visibility Intelligence Focus on the run, not the map. We utilize high-visibility flagging and provide synchronized GPX data for every mile, ensuring the only mystery you face is the terrain itself.
[RECOVERY]
The Wolf Pack Basecamp The mission ends at the Basecamp. Celebrate your finish with a curated community atmosphere, local refreshments, and the chance to swap stories with the rest of the Pack.
[SUSTENANCE]
Strategic Aid Stations Our stations are staffed by experienced trail runners who know exactly what you need. Expect precision nutrition and hydration strategically placed to conquer the vertical gain.

- Distance: 25k, 50k
The Bracken is where the heartbeat of Dirty Wolf Racing meets the rawest mountain terrain of Brevard. We’ve mapped the physical and mental tax of our courses to ensure every runner knows the cost of the journey. Facing a repetitive 7.5-mile loop filled with constant elevation shifts and technical single-track, these metrics reflect the pure grit required to conquer the opening battle of the Brevard Race Series.
THE QUEST
The Quest is where the landscape transforms and the race becomes a ritual. Moving beyond the rolling clay of the Piedmont, these missions are staged in the high-consequence terrain of the Blue Ridge Mountains, specifically designed for the runner who prioritizes tactical resolve and vertical endurance. This category introduces The Extraction Protocol: a high-stakes scavenger hunt where a finisher’s medal is not given, but assembled. From the Quest of the Six Stones at Stone Mountain to the pursuit of the Blood Book, these missions require you to maintain total accountability under pressure. You aren’t just running for a time; you are hunting for artifacts across granite domes and technical forest floors. To finish without a complete collection is a failure of the mission—here, you must collect, carry, and conquer to earn your place in the legend.
STONE MOUNTAIN MASSACE

- Date: February 6th, 2027
- Distance: 50k, 20k
Face the ‘Granite Beast’ in a vertical confrontation where your survival depends on the Quest of the Six Stones. Starting with a Protection Stone, you must navigate 10,000 feet of punishing elevation change to claim the five remaining stones hidden at designated checkpoints. This isn’t just a 50K; it’s a tactical mission to complete your Blood Book—a handcrafted relic to house your earned stones and your BlueGill Pottery medal. Fail to collect a single stone, and the mission ends in a DNF. Conquer the 300 ‘Stairs of Judgment’ to prove that when the mountain demanded your exit, you chose to stay and finish the collection.
THE ABYSS
The Abyss represents the terminal point of endurance. This category is reserved for our most punishing, high-consequence missions—events designed to push the human spirit to the point of total exhaustion. Staged in the most remote and unforgiving corners of the Blue Ridge and beyond, The Abyss is where strategy gives way to raw survival. These are the crown jewels of the Dirty Wolf Racing portfolio, featuring massive vertical gains, extreme cutoffs, and 100-mile distances that demand absolute preparation. Here, the goal isn’t just to finish; it’s to emerge from the darkness of the trail as a different athlete than the one who started.

- Distance: 100M, 100k, 50M, 50k, 25k
The apex of technical trail racing in the Blue Ridge foothills. Long feared for its near-impossible demands, Leatherwood’s legendary 0% historical finisher rate was finally shattered this past year when three elite fighters outlasted ‘The Abyss’ to become our first-ever 100-mile finishers. But the mountain never stays conquered for long. For 2027, the stakes are being raised with an entirely new route designed to be even more brutal and unforgiving than the original. Every 13-mile loop remains a relentless gauntlet of 30,000 feet of cumulative gain (100M), mandatory creek rituals, and the ‘Shadow Protocol’—a total blackout environment with zero ambient light. This is not a race for scenic vistas; it is a technical labyrinth designed to strip away the ego and test the raw survival of the elite endurance athlete.
